My most inspirational colleague is Lori Riedel. She inspires me because she is innovative. She never hesitates to try new things. She learns from doing. And she has fun in the process.
If there was a class that I would want to be a student in, it’s hers.
Lori is the Library Media Specialist at Warren Hills Elementary, and she is dedicated to engaging kids, fostering creative and critical thinkers, and supporting teachers in their own learning. I truly don’t know how she does it, but she balances student inquiry, the maker movement, higher-level thinking and research strategies, and authentic reading activities in a way that is truly unique. And challenging. And enjoyable. Not to mention she’s an amazing resource and support for school staff.
She’s awesome. And inspirational.
